21st CENTURY MEDIA BLITZ 2

Following on from the mega-successful (and much copied) first Century Media Blitz compilation in 1997, we are ready to unleash our second assault. This time it gets twice as good.
21st Century Media Blitz 2 will this time come as a Double CD. CD1 will feature a wide range of Century Media bands such as Skinlab, Stampin Ground, theGathering, Samael, Moonspell, Tiamat, Rykers, Merauder, Turmoil, Iced Earth, Cryptopsy, Arch Enemy, Stuck Mojo, Lacuna Coil, eyehategod and more. So far we still have to pin down a full track list but well let you know next time what rarities and unreleased stuff weve managed to get our hands on.
CD2 will feature some of the best UK bands around. Already confirmed are Acrimony, Kill II This, Earthtone9, King Prawn, Orange Goblin, Freebase, Hangnail, Knuckledust, Medulla Nocte and more to be confirmed. Unlike the previous compilation, which was a UK only release, well be flying the flag for British bands on the continent by making this available worldwide. And just as important is the price which we hope to keep under 5.00. Scheduled release date is 13th September.
There are lots of things coming up to coincide with the release including a pummeling four band UK Hardcore package tour kicking off three days later and featuring STAMPIN GROUND, Knuckledust, Freebase and Unite.

ARCH ENEMY and DARK TRANQUILLITY Digi Packs
The new ARCH ENEMY album, Burning Bridges, will comes as a Limited Edition digi pack featuring two bonus tracks Diva Satanica and the instrumental, Hydra. Both previously only available in Japan.
There will be an initial Limited Edition digi pack of the new DARK TRANQUILLITY album Projector as well as a Limited Edition vinyl version. Both are released on June 28th.

SAMAEL RELEASE NEW ALBUM
Its taken a long time coming but its definitely worth it. The new SAMAEL album ETERNAL is due for release on August 2nd. Its as long ago as 1996 that Samael released their monumental, Passage album and they toured the shit out of it over two years before taking a year off to write Eternal.
Prior to this will be a re-issue of their EXODUS mini album (Originally released at the beginning of 1998). This will be available in a digi pack format

MOONSPELL ALBUM RECORDED
Moonspell have finished recording their new album at Trident Studios, London with Andy Reilly (Bruce Dickinson, Skin, Bullyrag, UFO, David Bowie, The Cult). Entitled, THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, it will include tracks such as, Lustmord, I Am The eternal Spectator, Angelizer along with the title track. Prepare for a release on 4th October 1999.

NEVERMORE SINGER RUSHED TO HOSPITAL
Warrel Dane, the manic frontman with Seattles Nevermore was rushed to hospital in Austria recently after a violent forehead / headstock interface when he accidentally got hit in the mouth by Jim Sheppards Bass guitar during their set at the Rock Tiger Festival.
After having his lip stitched back together and being advised not to sing for at least three weeks he headed straight to the Gods Of Metal Festival in Italy to entertain over 20,000 fans.

Burning Heart News

MILLENCOLIN are right now rehearsing songs for the recording of their fourth album which will be recorded in Los Angeles California in August 1999.
Mr Brett Gurewitz, the ex-member of Bad Religion, now headhoncho of EPITAPH will produce the album, which is scheduled for a worldwide release in February 2000.

SAMIAM is right now touring europe (see tourpage for more info). The EP "Search & Destroy (with a cover of the classic titlesong+ "Factory" from the "You Are Freaking Me Out" album and some radiosessions ) is soon out in stores.

59 TIMES THE PAIN is confirmed for the De-Constrution tour together with NOFX, LAGWAGON and ohters.

NO FUN AT ALL is touring Canada at the moment with new guitarist Steven Neuman, and is doing excellent shows all over. Due to a lot of touring and other stuff the band will not enter the studio in August as said before. Instead a studiosession in Studio Underground Västerås is re-sceduled to November 1999. Release spring 2000.

PUFFBALL and new sidekick` Hooligans THE PEEPSHOWS is going on a european tour together, see tourpage for more info. PUFFBALL will release a brand new MCD in September as a follow-up to the critically acclaimed album "It´s Gotta Be Voodoo, Baby!".

Burning Heart´s newest signing MONSTER just finished the recording of their new album to be released on BHR in late september `99. One hell of a band that might surprise you, but in no way dissapoint!

SECTION 8 is a new band signed to Burning Heart. Classic hardcore with lots of attitude. A CDS is being released in september 1999.

Out in September is also THE PRODUCTS (Sidekicks) debutalbum so far untitled. With the line-up involving people from NASUM, MEANWHILE, VOICE OF A GENERATION and 59 TIMES THE PAIN this is definitely a kickin` release with lots of sing-a-long choruses and just excellent punkrock. Johnny Ramone meets Sham 69 sort of...

THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY has just returned from a 3 week tour in China! It was the first "real" tour by a rockband ever done in China, and Dennis Lyxzén comments "It was crazy. People were really entusiastic, but the police was not... No recorddeal set yet, so far you have to pick up the 7" vinyls released by the band themselves. Order now from Burning Heart Mailorder.

There will be a Burning Heart showcase at the Popkomm event on august 21. The line up is still to be confirmed, but it looks like MONSTER, VOICE OF A GENERATION, BREACH and BOMBHSELL ROCKS will enter "THE UNDERGROUND"s stage on Saturday night.

MOONSPELL RECORD NEW ALBUM IN LONDON
After the highly successful, SIN/ PECADO, album of last year Moonspell are back in the studios to work on a quick follow up.
This time theyve decided on a change of scenery and are camped out in TRIDENT STUDIOS, St. Jamess Park, London throughout June.
Stay tuned for more news as it happens. So far we have no song titles or even a tentative album title and a release date early in October has been penciled in.

STUCK MOJO VERY MUCH ALIVE AND WELL
After much speculation and rumours concerning the future of Stuck Mojo we can tell you that they are busy putting the finishing touches to their first official live album, cheekily titled REBORN.
Recorded earlier this year in their hometown of Atlanta, Georgia, amid news that they were imminently splitting.
Besides featuring blistering live favorites there will be up to three new studio tracks recorded with Andy Sneap. Prepare for a release later this year and, of course, more back breaking touring schedules.

RUNEMAGICK RECORD NEW ALBUM
Another band in the studio making a quick return to action are Runemagick who want to capitalise on the success of their just released, THE SUPREME FORCE OF ETERNITY album.
They are currently in Andy La Roquess LOS ANGERED STUDIO laying down tracks for the, as yet, untitled new release.
Expect some killer old school Death metal from tracks like, Enter The realm Of Death, Dwellers Beyond Obscurity, Abyss Of Desolation, Dethrone The Flesh, Lightworld Damnation, The Call of The Tombs and possibly a cover of GRAVEs Into The Grave. Release date is scheduled for late August.

THE GATHERING DO FESTIVALS
After a lengthy, back to our roots, tour of their native Benelux, theGATHERING began a summer of festival appearances at Dynamo on the 22nd May. They also squeezed in appearances at Rock Am Ring and Leipzig before flying to Greece for two shows.
More outdoor antics follow with Graspop in Dessel, Holland on 27th June and Noc Plna Hvead Open Air in the Czech Republic on 28th June then Beach Bum Festival, Jesolo, Italy on July 1st, Dour Festival, Belgium 11th July, Wacken Festival, Germany on the 7th August.
In between this they fly to the USA for their first ever appearances their which ends with the Milwaukee Metal Fest on August 4th.
Prior to this they recorded what will be a double live album at the Paradiso, Amsterdam in April. Expect this at the end of August.

TIAMAT RELEASE NEW SINGLE
Tiamat will precede the release of their new album, SKELETON SKELETRON (due out on August 30th) with a new EP, Brighter Than The Sun on July 17th. Alongside new tracks, For The Fire Of A Handgun (two versions, a shorter single version along with the lengthier album cut) and Children Of The Underworld the band also put their stamp on a cover of the ROLLING STONES classic SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL.

NOVEMBRE - The Italian Death Metal four piece are recording their first album for Century Media. The working title is WINTER 1941 and looks like being released in early October.

ZONATA - The Swedish power speed metal outfit have been busy recording their, as yet untitled, debut album with Andy Classen at stage One studios. Release date is 30th August.

ROTTING CHRIST IN AMERICA
Straight off the back of the highly successful DEICIDE tour (including a ridiculously sold out show at Londons LA2) the rotters are off to the Americas where they play six shows in Mexico as well as one in COLOMBIA.
They squeeze in shows in Tel Aviv, Israel and Burgas, Bulgaria, a hometown show in Athens and then head back to the USA to tour and appear at the Milwaukee Metal Fest. The band are eager to get back to Britain as soon as they can.

**** Computer VIRUS (Worm) Alert ****

This is not a hoax this is a real warning of a virus, well it's actually defined as a Worm as it seeks out access to computers and continues trying to find access once it has entered a computer.
This particular bugger is called "Happy 99" virus/worm so it was rather apt that we at the Happy camp actually got this bastard via email. Cheers!

Anyway just so you are aware of it this is what it does and what to look for.
Happy 99 is contained within a file attachment that is sent via email or newsgroups postings and the key thing to remember is: DON'T OPEN THE FILE ATTACHMENT TITLED - "HAPPY99.EXE" !!!
This executes the worm and it enters your system while you watch a cute fireworks display movie ! - Then when ever you send an email or post a message to a newsgroup the worm starts to replicate itself in every single email or newgroup posting. Pretty nasty but not really harmful, it is an irritation rather than a serious virus that will attack your computer.
Also it is very easy to eliminate from your computer as we did immediately.
Here's what you do:

1. Disconnect your internet connection and close all browsers and email clients.

2. Open Find (click on "Start button" then on "Find" then on "files and folders")

3. Change Look In: to "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\"

4. Find the following files:
a) SKA.EXE
b) SKA.DLL
c) WSOCK32.SKA

If you find these files on your system you have been infected by the Happy 99 worm.
Only continue with the rest of this proceedure if you have found these files.


5. Delete (and hold "shift" to permanently delete) the files SKA.EXE and SKA.DLL

6. Ensuring that you have WSOCK32.SKA on your system (you should have just checked this so just make sure you have got it) then find and rename the file WSOCK.DLL (to rename: select the file and then right click you mouse and select "Rename" from the menu) to the new name: WSOCK32.BAK

7. Then find WSOCK32.SKA and rename it WSOCK32.DLL

8. Now find the email you received the worm in (Note: Don't open it!) and delete that email.

9. Restart your computer

10. Your computer should now be free from the Happy 99 worm - Now email all the people you may have infected and tell them to either look up this page or check up the following sites:

This is Radio Punk... on the Internet!!!
My name is Sam Stock, I am the Program Director of the "Alternative Edge" on the Lycos Radio Network (we just launched 5 different radio formats on the internet through Lycos--please check us out at www.radio.lycos.com).
I am in the planning and organizing stages of doing a weekly, four hour Punk show ("Under The Floorboards") on the internet.

New Release of Days of Fury...
The release is a 6 Track MCD called "Embedded In Darkness"
Legion is a very Metal Influenced hardcore band from the Belgian coast (H8000-Crew) and started two years ago. After one year of rehearsing and doing some small shows they decided to record a demo tape, which sold really well!!
After that and quite some shows there was supposed to be a CD on the Belgian hardcore label Goodlife Recordings (Congress, Liar, 25 ta life, Mourning Again....) but due to lack of time and running behind on schedule, Goodlife asked me to release the debute CD.
